Thought Swamp is a project of Brad McKinney, professional designer, educator, and advocate based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Focused on “Design, Culture, and Criticism,” Thought Swamp aims to contribute thoughtful reflection on these topics with an audience of student designers in mind.

Critical thinking can be messy, like slogging through a swamp. Yet moments of clarity are worth the trek. A swamp of information infiltrates our daily lives. Draining it is not an option. Instead, we must work to make sense of the churn of information, finding currents that can propel, and disrupt, our thinking. We can draw from the swamp a richer understanding of the world in which we find ourselves making.
